This policy explains how Georgia College Republicans ("GCR," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you visit gacollegereps.org, submit a form, sign up for updates, or make a donation through a linked payment service.

Because GCR is a political organization, information you choose to provide may reveal your political interests or affiliations. Please do not submit information you do not want us to receive.

Information we collect

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Contact and membership forms may collect your name, email address, phone number, school, graduation year, subject, and message.
  • Newsletter signup collects your email address and your request to receive updates.
  • Candidate questionnaires may collect contact details, campaign information, policy positions, and your answers to the questions on the form.
  • Our hosting, analytics, and security services may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, referring page, and the date and time of a request.
  • Donations are processed on Stripe's website. Stripe collects payment and transaction information under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your full payment card number, but we may receive transaction records and donor information from Stripe.

How we use information

We may use information to:

  • respond to questions and requests;
  • manage membership inquiries and connect students with GCR;
  • send newsletters and organization updates;
  • review candidate questionnaires and related requests internally;
  • process and keep records of donations;
  • operate, secure, troubleshoot, and understand use of the website;
  • prevent spam, fraud, abuse, and other harmful activity; and
  • comply with law and protect our rights and the rights of others.

How we share information

We share information only as needed to operate GCR and the website. Recipients may include GCR officers and authorized volunteers, as well as service providers that handle hosting, security, analytics, email, payments, and form processing.

Those providers include Cloudflare for hosting, Web Analytics, and Turnstile security checks; Resend for form notification emails; Stripe for donations; and our workflow and form-processing systems. A form submission may also be delivered to authorized GCR email accounts.

We may disclose information if required by law, to respond to legal process, to protect people or property, or as part of an organizational restructuring. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Analytics, security, and cookies

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure site traffic and performance. Cloudflare states that this service does not use cookies, local storage, or fingerprinting to collect usage metrics.

Some forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish people from automated traffic. Turnstile processes technical and interaction data needed to provide that security check. Third-party sites linked from this website, including Stripe, may use their own cookies and similar technologies under their own policies.

Data retention and security

We keep information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including organizational records, security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Retention periods vary by the type of information and the systems that process it.

We use reasonable safeguards, but no website, email system, or storage service can guarantee complete security.

Your choices

You may ask us to correct or delete information you submitted, or to stop sending newsletter messages. We will consider requests subject to applicable law and any records we need to retain. You can submit a request through our contact page.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Third-party links

This website links to services and social media sites that we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top shows when the current version took effect.
